07/01/11 - 07/10/11

07/01/11 - We made a pit stop at LSU on our way to Metairie on Friday night.  Mike was out walking around.  This was Cooper's first road trip and first visit to LSU.
07/02/11 - Cousins splashing in the pool!
07/03/11 - Grace and Aubrey swinging!
07/04/11 - Almost home!  Cooper and Aubrey did great on the ride to Metairie and back.  Both trips were long with stops and traffic slow-downs, but overall they both did great on the long rides.
07/05/11 - Cooper started cereal and of course Aubrey wanted to help.
07/06/11 - My happy, happy boy
07/07/11
07/08/11 - Cooper and his toes!
07/09/11 - Saturday morning playing at home
07/10/11 - Two teeth!

Visit to the Butterfly Garden

We took a trip to the Cockrell Butterfly Center on Sunday.  It's part of the Houston Museum of Natural Science.  It was a beautiful garden with hundreds of butterflies flying about.  I could have stayed all day just taking pictures of all of the butterflies.

Here are just a few of the butterflies I was able to get pictures of:

Cooper is in such a happy phase right now.  He was perfectly content being held by Matt and I as we walked through the garden.  We are starting to venture out more as a family of four.

Aubrey gets the photo credits on this one.  She took it with her pink camera that Santa brought.  This is a pretty good shot - you can actually see both of our heads!

Cooper's First Time Rolling Over!

Now we can't keep him on his back.  He had been getting close for the past couple of weeks, so I was ready with my camera on this Sunday afternoon.  He was very proud of himself once he made it to his belly.

Dance Recital Videos

Aubrey's Dance Recital

Aubrey's dance recital was a few weeks ago.  What a fun and special night it turned out to be.  A few weeks before the recital, I started getting a little worried that Aubrey would get scared of the big stage and lights and not want to dance, so I started talking to her about what to expect the night of the rehearsal.  I told her there was going to be a big stage and bright lights, so she may not be able to see Mommy and Daddy, but we would be able to see her.  I also told her that if she went on the stage and tried, she would get a special surprise at the end of the night.  So up to the day of the recital, every time we would talk about it, I would remind her that all she had to do was go on the stage and try to get her surprise.  It turns out that I didn't need to bribe her to get her to go on stage.  Once that curtain opened, she was a dancing machine!  There were only 4 girls in her group and they all did such a great job!  It was such a long night for them.  The recital was supposed to start at 7:00 but actually started 30 minutes late, which is about the time Aubrey goes to bed.  All of the girls had been "backstage" since 6:00, but they all sat through the 23 different dances with no major meltdowns, which is pretty good for a large group of 3-6-year-olds.  The girls in her class all danced both dances and looked like they had fun doing it!

The first dance was a tap dance to Splish Splash.

The second dance was a ballet dance to a song from the Tinkerbell movie.

My beautiful ballerina
She was so excited that the flowers were for her.  She didn't want to let them go.  (We also got her a surprise from the Disney store for going on stage as promised!)
So proud of my sweet girl.
