Catching up from September

Here are a few pictures of what we've been up to the last month and a half...
All smiles!

Fun with butterfly wings!

Just flying around

We've been cheering for the Tigers!  #1!

Sometimes it's that not easy getting a good picture of the two of them!
Cooper's slowly getting around more and more.  He rolls himself all around the mat, can push up and will reach and pull to get what he wants.  It's not going to be long before he's crawling, but I'm not wishing for that to happen just yet...

He's also cutting his top 2 teeth.  He had a rough night last week.  He was running a mild fever and was up every few hours (which is not like him), but he woke up smiling the next morning and they haven't seemed to bother him since.

Over the weekend we attended Creek Fest at the museum and library down the road from us.  It was fun.  We met up with Kate (Aubrey's friend from school) and her family.  There were games, face painting, and crafts.

Getting a butterfly.

This is the only picture I got of Kate.  She never stands still!

Cooper and Claire had fun, too!  Claire is Kate's little sister and is also in
Cooper's class.  They are 2 &1/2 months apart.
Last one... I asked Aubrey to make a card for Pops' birthday last week.  She's very good at writing her name, but I had no idea she could write so many letters!  I started spelling out the words and I looked down to see this...

A few more pictures from August

Cooper loves playing in his Exersaucer.

Especially when Aubrey is close by to entertain him!

Aubrey still asks to hold Cooper.  We try to oblige as much as possible.

French braids have become the new fashion statement in our house.

Sitting Up

Look who's sitting up all by himself!!  It took a few weeks to get there, but it seemed like everyday he got a little stronger and could hold himself better.
This was right at 6 months and he still was holding himself up with his hands.

Aubrey thought it was funny that he landed on her arm.

So did Cooper!

Doing everything he can to get that book in his mouth.

Slowly his balance got better and better.

Sitting straight and tall.

New toys to play with.

They are too sweet!

Aubrey practicing her teacher skills

Story time is a popular event in our house.

Labor Day Cold Front

After a 20+ days of greater than 100 degree temperatures and last Saturday's highest temperature ever recorded at the airport of 109 degrees, the cold front that blew in over Labor Day weekend was very much appreciated!  It was so nice to be able to spend some time outside and enjoy the cool, breezy weather.  We spent time outside all three days, which is something we haven't done in awhile.
I love our double jogging stroller and that Cooper is finally old enough to sit up and enjoy the ride!

Cooper loved the swing!

So did Aubrey!

He's a cool dude!

July Fun

I hate to admit it, but I haven't been able to keep up with my 365 photo challenge that I gave myself at the beginning of the year.  July seemed to fly by and I know the rest of the year is going to get even busier with Matt going back to school soon.  Maybe I'll try again next year, but I do have quite a few pictures to share from last month.

Cooper is doing great!!

He sleeps straight through the night most nights.  I often find him facing a completely different direction than how I put him down.

Cooper started solids a few weeks ago and is up to two meals of solids a day as he is making his way through the fruits and veggies.  So far, he's had bananas, sweet potatoes, apples, carrots, and pears.  He loves to eat and some nights I can't get the food in his mouth fast enough.

Cooper is definitely a happy boy.  He's always smiling.  He loves to watch Aubrey and always turns in the direction of her voice.  He love music and still loves grabbing on to his toes.

Aubrey is having a fun summer.  She just finished up swimming lessons and is fearless in the pool, even though she's not quite ready to swim on her own.  She loves to jump in with her goggles on and touch the bottom.

She loves to color, and it's fun to watch how she's starting to color specific things on her page instead of just scribbling across the page.  Last week, she brought home a paper from school with a picture of a train.  She had only colored the wheels, alternating between orange and brown.  She was so excited to ask me if I liked her pattern!

The other day, she showed me this note she had written.  Can you tell what it says?  This is the best free-hand version of her name she's done, and she did it all on her own.

When Aunt Meg and Grace visited back in April, they brought Aubrey a jewelry box she could paint and decorate herself.  She finally got to complete her project and was so excited to do it.

Last weekend, Aubrey got her first summer haircut.  I brought her to the salon with me, and she waited patiently while I got my haircut.  She was so excited and behaved very well.  She still has her curls, they were just blow-dried that day.
