Sibling Class

On Saturday, we took Aubrey to a Sibling Class at the hospital. I really wanted her to see the hospital, so she'll have some idea of where she'll be coming to visit Cooper and I in a few weeks. It was a neat class. The children got to practice holding a baby.


And they sent them home with a little hat and diaper to put on their babies at home and stickers and a book to color.

At the end of the class, they brought us upstairs to take a tour of the maternity ward. We got to visit a labor and delivery room (actually the L&D room we spent 18 hours in and Aubrey was almost born in) as well as a postpartum room. Aubrey checked everything out in the rooms.

We also walked by the nursery and got to see some of the babies.

The highlight of the visit was when Aubrey got to put her hand prints on the wall. The hospital walls in the maternity ward are filled with hand prints of the siblings of the babies born there.

This is one of those pictures worth 1000 words. I was helping Aubrey put the pieces of fruit back together, and I held the banana up to a mouth like a smiley face and said "Hi Aubrey". She got a kick out of it, so of course she had to do it, too. She held the banana up to her mouth and said "Hi Heather". I responded "I'm Mommy", and she said "But your name is Heather, too"!

We took Aubrey to a sibling class at the hospital. The highlight was Aubrey getting to put her handprints on the wall at the hospital. We'll be visiting them soon!
