Easter Egg Hunt

On Saturday, Aubrey went to her first Easter Egg Hunt, sponsored by our HOA. We've lived in our house almost 4 years and this is the first neighborhood function we've attended. There was a large Easter Bunny (who Aubrey did not want to go near), a petting zoo with goats, sheep, and chickens, (that we watched from the behind the fence), and cotton candy and snow cones (at 10 am). Aubrey even saw one of her classmates, Alex, there. Aubrey had lots of fun!

Aubrey had so much fun, she's been carrying her basket of Easter eggs around with her. So we had another Easter Egg Hunt in our front yard last night after dinner and again this morning. If only she liked picking up her toys this much!

Baby Shower

We took a trip to Baton Rouge, well really Zachary, over the weekend to throw my sister a baby shower. I am so excited to finally be an Aunt and I know Aubrey is looking forward to her cousin, Grace's, arrival. Aubrey had a great time at the shower. She got to meet lots of new people and eat some good food. She did great, too, for not having much of a nap and spending almost 6 hours total in the car that day.

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Today is Matt's birthday. After a delicious dinner out we came home and surprised daddy with a cake. He's still trying to figure out how we made it all the way to Bruster's without him knowing!

Quiet Weekend at Home

Aubrey was a bit under the weather this weekend. I actually picked her up from school early on Friday because the school called and said she didn't seem like herself. She was very congested, with not much of an appetite, and she only wanted to be held. So we spent most of the weekend napping and resting.
This is Penny. She's our neighborhood cat who has adopted us, so we now feed her, and she spends most of her time lounging around our gardens. I guess since she hadn't seen too much of us this weekend she was checking in to see if Aubrey could come out and play.

After an afternoon nap and a snack, Aubrey seemed to be feeling better and we decided to go outside and enjoy the fresh air. Here's Penny lounging in our front gardens:

While outside, Aubrey helped Daddy water the garden.

She collected rocks and pine cones.

And then she headed inside. She always swings her right arm when she struts.

We got some beads and king cake this past weekend. Aubrey enjoyed them both!

She got called a boy twice that day in the grocery store. I know she's wearing a blue shirt and overalls, but she also has earrings, pink socks, and pink shoes!
