We had a fun but very hot long holiday weekend.
Friday morning we kicked the weekend off with a visit to Aubrey's class at the Little Gym, then she took pictures (see post below) in the afternoon, and then we had some friends over for dinner. Our good friends, Mike and Christie, had a beautiful baby boy, Ryan, a little over 2 weeks ago. Aubrey was very excited to meet Baby Ryan. I don't think she ate any of her dinner because she was watching him sleep, and then when he started to cry, she didn't know what to do. She held his hand and touched his hair and was very gentle. On Saturday morning we went to our neighborhood 4th of July parade and celebration. Aubrey had fun catching candy and beads. We only stayed at the celebration for a little bit because it was so hot, but it was long enough for Aubrey to play on the playground and go down the slide a few times. Then we headed home and ate lunch and went for a swim. We were trying to stretch her nap time because we knew it was going to be a late night.
After her nap, we went up to the Woodlands for dinner, a festival, and fireworks. It was too hot to enjoy the festival, but we walked around a bit and headed back to our spot to wait for the fireworks. Aubrey seemed fascinated with them. She sat back and watched.
